Michael Polemis Obituary, Death – Michael Polemis, a treasured and devoted member of the DEAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (DCL), passed away in a peaceful manner on the morning of December 18th, 2023, at the age of 75. The DCL mourns the loss of Michael Polemis with profound sadness. The unwavering dedication that Michael had for DCL lasted for almost a decade, during which time he made selfless contributions to the development and achievement of the organization.
In addition to his service on the Disciplinary Committee, which he began in 2014, he went on to serve as Vice President for two years and Treasurer for three years, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to his responsibilities. Michael continued to volunteer his time and expertise, assisting with logistical tasks, even after he transitioned out of his official roles. This brings the total number of years that Michael has provided DCL with invaluable service to nine.
His demeanor was calm and reassuring, and he left an impression on the lives of those he came in contact with through his genuine kindness and warmth. His presence within DCL was characterized by these qualities. As a result of his unwavering commitment and unflinching support for the league’s mission, Michael left an indelible mark that will continue to exist throughout time. At the same time that the DCL family is saying goodbye to Michael Polemis,
they are carrying forward the memories of his unwavering dedication and the profound impact he had on the organization. After his death, there is a hole in our lives that will never be filled. Michael has passed away in a natural way, leaving behind a legacy that will live on within the DCL community. May he rest in eternal peace.
